Three stages of gaming
Each
level in Clear and Shoot has three stages
. In the first stage, you control a firehose. The goal is to clean grime off on-screen weapons that appear if you're fast enough to clean an entire weapon before it disappears.
From hoses to weapons
In the second stage, your hose is replaced with whatever weapons you've succeeded in collecting. These will automatically shoot projectiles as you steer left and right, taking out obstacles and enemies and collecting bonus money.
Raise your level
Earning virtual cash will raise your character level, allowing you to
access more powerful weapons
. At level 1, you can use only knives, but at level 5, you can obtain pistols and reach higher levels to get your crossbows, rifles, and more. You can also boost specific attributes, like bullet rate and damage.
Stacked in the boss's favor
A major shortcoming in Clear and Shoot is that the
bosses are impossible to beat
until you have racked up enough points for decent upgrades. This leads to a long-winded process of playing and losing over and over again just to win points for upgrades.
